The ILSCM Geographic Market
The geographic areas the Institute will be most active in are:
· Local:
Victoria
University serves the Western Melbourne catchment area; as such, the local geographic market for the ILSCM is
Western Melbourne . The development and enhancement of infrastructure in the area provide particular needs regarding Logistics, which the Institute can serve.
· Regional: The logical regional market is the state of
Victoria . Given the initiatives by the Victorian Government regarding Logistics and Supply Chain Management, the Institute can play a significant role in serving, contributing and supporting these initiatives in the interest of
Victoria and its economy.

as a single entity from a supply chain viewpoint. The Institute can assist in developing this approach through collaborative research and national consulting initiatives.
· International: Many Australian companies have manufacturing operations, product import or retail supply agreements in Asia, especially . As Supply Chains lengthen so does complexity in Logistics - the ILSCM can provide an understanding for organisations of the competitive nature of Supply Chains within the Asia Pacific region.
· Global Trade: ILSCM will add value through its relationships with similar Centres in the region and internationally and through collaborative research sponsored by such entities as AusAid, Asia Development Bank and United Nations.
