About Dr. Hermione Parsons

Adjunct Associate Professor
Manager Port Systems and Logistics, Port of Melbourne Corporation

Qualifications:
Masters degree specialising in intermodal freight; PhD specialising in corporate retail supply systems.

Hermione Parsons is Deputy Chair of the ILSCM Advisory Board.

She moved to the Port of Melbourne Corporation in 2007 after spending a number of years at DIIRD, where her role included managing the Freight Transport, Distribution and Logistics industry-government partnership which involves the peak industry associations (including VU), State Government Ministers and their government departments. She came to government 2 years ago having managed national horticulture projects with each of the wholesale fruit and vegetable markets, growers, retailers and wholesalers. In her Masters degree she specialised in intermodal freight and her PHD was in corporate retail supply systems. Dr Parsons is an experienced logistician.
Her knowledge and experience in state government, the freight transport, distribution and logistics sector and skills in project management enables her to provide advice and guidance on projects for the Institute.
