POSTGRADUATE COURSEWORK PROGRAMS

The University offers a variety of postgraduate coursework programs that vary in content and length:

• graduate certificates (1 semester FT);
• graduate diplomas (2 semesters FT);
• masters degrees (3 – 4 semesters FT); and
• coursework doctoral programs.

Many of these programs offer full articulation between courses. This means that completion of a graduate certificate provides one semester’s credit towards a graduate diploma that, in turn, provides two semesters’ credit towards a masters degree by coursework. For details of postgraduate courses, consult the relevant faculty’s handbook or view it online at www.vu.edu.au

POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH PROGRAMS

Generally, prospective students must have completed a degree, with honours, from a recognised tertiary institution to be eligible for postgraduate research programs. Traditionally, higher degrees by research are awarded on the basis of research findings presented as a thesis that is assessed by several external examiners who are experts in the research field.

The Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Victoria University offers research-based postgraduate qualifications. The research masters degree and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) are normally undertaken wholly by research and thesis. The length of the research project varies; usually 2 years full time for masters degrees and 3 years full time for the PhD.

The Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain Management is committed to the development of research strength in:

• Logistics and Supply Chain Management
