The course features eight core subjects, six specialisation subjects, two support subjects, eight unspecified electives and an Logistics Research Project subject, making up to 24 subjects required for completion of this course.

Specialisation Subjects
Global Logistics
This exciting subject introduces the student to the world of logistics through theory and analysis. It provides the foundation of learning for the whole degree. It will focus on the basic elements of logistics, which includes the study of inventory, warehousing, transport, material handling and information flow at both national and international levels.
Supply and Value Networks
In this subject students will gain an understanding of the structure of supply chains and the roles that various logistics service providers have in the success of principal organisations such as manufacturing and retail. Students will also study the effects of capacity constraints, behaviour and uncertainty on the operation of the network or supply chain.
Distribution Management &Operations
This subject provides students with an understanding of a full range of storage and handling decisions that firms are required to take as various goods and services make their way from the points of origin or manufacture to the points of consumption, both globally and in local markets. Depending on the nature of the product being distributed and the channels of distribution being utilised, students will learn that the different types of warehouse design including, facility sizing, financial type, configuration, space layout, dock design, material handling system and stock layout.
Supply Principles
Through an analysis of supply chain systems, student will develop an awareness of the importance of good relationships with suppliers of goods and services; understand the various approaches in managing the relationship with suppliers; understand the structure and uses of total cost, value for money and value/cost analysis.
Global Transport Economics
This subject introduces the application of theory to the analysis of operations, policies and challenges in the transport sector. This analysis is carried out against a b background of the importance to an economy of a highly developed transport sector. Issues explored will centre on the transport of goods and people at both national and international level.
Logistics Analysis & Solutions
This exciting and challenging subject will help students to structure a specific problem and analyse the current industry environment in which the problem exists. Students will learn to us reporting methods as a basis to provide management with options and viable solutions for issues and problems that are found in the areas of logistics such as: transport, warehousing, materials handling, inventory management and purchasing.
Course Duration
The course is offered over 3 years on a full time basis or over 6 years on a part-time basis.
Professional Recognition
Students successfully completing the program are eligible to apply for membership of the Customs Brokers & Freight Forwarders Council of Australia and the Australian Federation of International Forwarders. Student membership of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport is available for the duration of enrolment in the program. On completion, students will be eligible to become Chartered Members carrying post nominal of CMILT. The program is supported by the Logistics Association of Australia.
Work Integrated Learning (WIL)
Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is an industry –based learning experience consisting of full-time work. The practical real world experience is designed to produce more mature and focused graduates who possess the skills to immediately play a productive role in any organisation. The Work Integrated Learning experience also enables graduates to succeed in an intensely competitive marketplace. To successfully complete the WIL requirements, student work full-time in industry usually for a period of 2 academic semesters and are paid an award wage. Due to the timing of the academic calendar, most students are able to begin Co-op placement at any time from the completion of the academic year in November until early March.
Pathways
The University may grant credit transfer of 33 percent in a three year Bachelor Degree program or 25 percent in a four –year Bachelor Program for a completed TAFE Advanced Diploma or Diploma in the same field. Credit may also be granted for prior study in an unrelated field.
The University will consider granting the highest level of credit consistent with students’ previous studies and experience up to a maximum of the equivalent of 2 years in a three-year Bachelor Degree or three years in a four-year Bachelor Degree;
AND
to be granted credit, a students’ previous studies would normally be completed within a 10-year period prior to enrolment.
However, in rapidly changing areas more recent study may be relevant.
