Tiger leaps into Queensland

SNIPPET: Today's announcement by Tiger Airways Australia that it plans to commence flights from Melbourne to the Gold Coast, Mackay and Rockhampton is terrific news for Australian travellers and tourism operators according to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Transport and Regional Services, Mark Vaile. "Gold Coast Airport's ability to lure Tiger with dedicated terminal facilities is evidence the Airport's strong investment in aviation infrastructure has paid off," Mr Vaile said. "It is no coincidence that, as Gold Coast Airport has grown and invested in new infrastructure, the Gold Coast and Tweed region has also flourished.
