"Impossible" Crane Rates Reducing Costs for Families
Fri, Aug 3 2007
SNIPPET: Latest waterfront performance figures show Australian working families and exporters are being saved extra costs in the supply chain thanks to the 25th consecutive quarter of record efficiency after the Coalition Government's crackdown on dockside union rorts. The national crane rate has been improving steadily since the Australian Government broke the union stranglehold on the stevedoring industry to achieve a national crane rate of 25 containers per hour in 1998. The five port average number of containers moved per hour was 17.4 in 1996.
