Business Systems & Information
Overview
An Information Framework substantiates the development of an Information Gateway Port, to facilitate the virtual connectivity within the Logistics City. Connectivity, both physical and virtual connectivity, is a fundamental determinant of an efficient Logistics City. An InfoPort as the Information Gateway Port will provide the integration and synergies towards such efficiencies and optimisation. The Information Gateway Port, i.e. the NLC InfoPort, will integrate many of the Information and Technology initiatives that were undertaken over the last few years in Victoria, into a fully functional InfoPort.
Research Objective
This is to establish information systems architecture as a fundamental discipline that sits between strategy and portfolio management, i.e. between deciding where the organisation wishes to establish and what investments it will prioritise. The objective is about understanding how a strategy should be implemented. This is to provide a framework for business process and information integration. The object is also to apply best practice and comply with existing architectures, e.g. the Australian Government Architecture.
